Green Screen 2017

Green Screen 2017 featured over 50 films, mostly free to the public, as well as panel discussions, visiting filmmakers, Q&A’s and other special events to facilitate conversation and action on critical issues facing T&T.
In celebrating its seventh year opened on November 2nd with a gala Opening Night screening of Death by a Thousand Cuts at Digicel IMAX. With stunning cinematography and a poignant intimacy, this gripping documentary thriller examines the unsolved murder of a Dominican ranger, amidst the battle to save the Dominican Republic’s protected forests from being depleted by Haitian nationals who scour the hills for fuel.
2017’s theme, In Deep, signifies commitment to the cause of sustainable development; focuses attention on marine resources; and, calls for action in the wake of severe hurricanes toward the development of comprehensive disaster preparedness planning.
